Youth Group in Plateau State (Collective Grassroots Mobilizers) identify with Students of locality

A progressive group in Tunkus, the headquarter of Mikang Local Government Area called, Collective Grassroots Mobilizers. (CGM) has identified with students of GSS TUNKUS recently.

CGM is a group of young focus concern people with a sole purpose of mobilizing the Grassroots to participate in politics, to create awareness on the effects of political apathy and to create awareness on the dangers and effects of drugs abuse and other social vices among it citizens. It’s purely a non partisan group.

During the visit on June 23, the group presented a paper to students with a topic POLITICAL APATHY. This presentation was made by three among members of CGM where they emphasis about Political involvement.

Members of staff and students of Government secondary School Tunkus were fully on ground receiving the lectures presented. Thereafter, questions were thrown out to students and 6 students won, the leadership of CGM out of it little capacity provided some gifts (books).

To encourage the students more, CGM in their little capacity produce few copies of exercise books to share to students as a source of motivation and encouragement among them to focus in their books for the growth of the locality.

Principal of GSS Tungkus, Mr. Peter Danladi while giving his welcoming address described the youths as future of hope of the locality, He appreciated them for the visit and urge them to put more efforts in helping the younger generation.

In an interview with the chairperson of the group, Comr. Dutkas job Dakup, he describe their initiative as move to motivate and change the mindset of the younger ones, to see the need to read hard, as well get a PVC.

Dutkas also disclosed more blueprint of the group which according to him is not only about political mobilization but will create awareness on the effect of drug abuse, organizing skills acquisition trainings among others.
