ASUU PLASU Strike: Students set to protest

The students of Plateau state University, Bokkos have announced it readiness for a peaceful protest on Monday April 4th 2022 over the lingering action of ASUU PLASU Strike.

The students convey this in a statement to the state government on March 28, made available news men today..

According to the student Union the peaceful protest becomes necessary due to the long over due industrial action of the ASUU PLASU Strike and the inability of the the state government to reach a common ground.

Among the challenges outlined by the students are delay and missing of NYSC, delay in graduation , lost of opportunities arising from age, as well waste of non refundable house rent among others.

This is coming 3 months after the varsity lecturers embarked on an indefinate strike on December 20, 2021 due to the failure of state government to meet their agreement in March 2021.

This is coming at a time ASUU nationwide on also on strike.

Last January the lecturers embarked on an indefinite strike which was suspended in March 2021 and the students resume academic activities.

Some of the reasons for the industrial action are;

Unpaid earned allowance of the lecturers, construction of staff quarters, among host of others
