Be a Prepaid customer
Have registered your phone number
Have been on the MTN network for more than 3 months
Have spent at least N200 monthly for 3 months
Have between N0 and N75 in your main account
Paid-up any outstanding XtraTime loan request.

2. Then select your preferred amount from the list
3. After selecting your preferred amount, the system will then send you a message with the amount you are about to borrow and the applicable service fee for you to confirm the transaction.
4. Once you confirm your transaction, the system will deduct the service fee, credit your XtraTime account with the remaining airtime balance and send you a successful notification message.

Method 2

How to Borrow MTN Airtime using 606 IVR:

1.To borrow airtime from MTN simply Dial 606 and the system will play an announcement for you to select your preferred language, either English, Igbo Hausa or Yoruba.

2.Then selecting your preferred language, you will be required to select either XtraTime or XtraByte.

3.Once you select XtraTime, the system will then play out all the airtime amount that you can borrow.

4.You can then select your preferred amount from the list

5.After selecting your preferred amount, the system will then play an announcement with the amount you are about to borrow and the applicable service fee for you to confirm the transaction.

6.Once you confirm your transaction, the system will deduct the service fee, credit your XtraTime account with the remaining airtime balance and send you a successful notification message.

You can’t check or see your mtn xtratime balance using the usual method of checking your mtn account balance. For reasons best known to mtn, your xtratime balance won’t display in your main account balance, you’ll only see a constant negative figure of the airtime you borrowed.

Tocheck and know your mtn xtratime balance dial *606#, select 3 (My Account), select 2 (Account Balance). Once you do that, your xtratime balance will pop up immediately and you’ll see your remaining xtratime balance.
