PLATEAU POLICE COMMISSIONER VISITS PLASU TO STRATEGISE ON SECURITY


The Commissioner of Police, Plateau State command Bartholomew Nnamdi Onyeka has called for synergy in combating crime and criminality in and around the state owned University in Bokkos.

The Police boss made the call when he paid a working visit to the Plateau State University Bokkos to find ways of strengthening security operations in and around the university.

Mr Onyeka who led his top commanders on the visit was received by the Registrar, Mr Yakubu Ayuba on behalf of the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Yohana Izam.

Mr. Yakubu Ayuba briefed the Commissioner of efforts made by the university to protect lives and property in and around the university community.
According to him, management has provided a police out post at Diram Village near the university gate where a large student population reside.

Speaking after the courtesy call and tour of the newly commissoned Senate Building and assessment of the Out-post provided by the University,the Police Commissioner promised to adopt the community policing model in curbing crime within the university environment.

He said synergy will be key in achieving a crime free environment and therefore called on the students whom he described as stakeholders in the would be security architecture to embrace the policing model in order to achieve this objective.

Mr Onyeka promised to work with the university to upgrade the facility to a standard police outpost which is expected to provide an ideal working environment for his men when they finally take over.
