Chief Kefiano while given a brief history of what inspired him to renovate the A&E is because of the deplorable condition and lack of adequate equipment, said he is inspired by the teachings of his late mother that’s why he is filled with both profound gratitude and somber reflection, the Story behind the renovation and equipping of the Accident and Emergency Unit at the Jos University Teaching Hospital (JUTH) is for effective healthcare service people shouldn’t die because of lack of adequate equipment.

“The initiative is not merely a charitable act; it is the embodiment of a deeply personal journey one that began with my mother’s love, her sacrifices, her struggles, and ultimately, her untimely departure, he commended the CMD Dr Pokop Buptwada for his proactive measures in emergency cases, because during his mother’s illness him and the head of the A&E are always of ground.

Many in our country faced health challenges that required medical attention. His mother unfortunately, despite her resilience and unwavering spirit, her health deteriorated over the years. As her condition Worsened, she found herself in need of the very services that our hospitals were meant to provide. It was at Jos University Teaching Hospital that his mother spent her final days., The experience of watching his mother suffer, the frustration of seeing her health decline due to inadequate facilities, and the helplessness, though staffed by hardworking medical professionals, was severely terms of resources.

Chief Kefiano said the reason why he thought of renovating the A&E unit is because casualty and emergency units were overstretched and lacked the essential equipment needed to provide timely and effective care. Tragically despite the best efforts of the doctors and nurses, my mother’s condition worsened, and she passed away.

The renovation and equipping of the the Accident and Emergency Unit for effective healthcare service. The facility is not just a building; it is legacy a tribute to my mother’s strength, to her unwavering belief in the potential of the human spirit, and to the countless others who have, like her, faced the harsh realities of a healthcare system that is in serious need of attention. ” According to him the initiative is more than an act of charity; it is a call to action. It is a call to all individuals who are privileged enough to have the means to make a difference to step forward and contribute to the betterment of our society. We cannot, in good conscience, allow the status quo to persist. We cannot continue to allow our hospitals to remain underfunded, our healthcare workers to remain under resourced, and our communities to suffer as a result. The time has come for us, as a society, to take responsibility and invest in the health and well-being of our people it is my hope that this project will serve as a beacon of hope-not just for those who require emergency care, but for the entire healthcare system. We must ensure that every Plateau son and daughter, regardless of their social status, has access to the care they deserve. In doing so, we honour the memory of those who have gone before us.

The Emergency Unit is a critical component of every hospital’s mission in providing comprehensive, compassionate, and cutting-edge healthcare services, no doubt, this beautifully renovated A&E unit will continue to provide a healing environment, the one that nurtures the body, and instils a sense of dignity and peace to patients.
